Plants
Students have been learning about plants and their habitats. As an experiment we have planted bean seeds to watch them grow. Students have been looking at what happens if a plant is grown in different conditions (E.g. Without Light, warmth, water etc.) What we are seeing each day is very exciting!
Anzac Day
Students were very excited to learn about Anzac Day. It was excellent for students to learn about our history. We also enjoyed baking Anzac cookies! They didn't taste too bad either.

Week One Term 2
Week one got off to a flying start!
The Cross Country was probably the highlight of the week for the students! What a great job they did running either 1 or 2Km!
This week also saw the opening and naming of the new upper primary building- Willmett Block. it was wonderful to hear our beautiful School choir sing and even better to see so many of our friends a part of the choir. Well done to you all!
We have begun to learn about Habitats and Plants- so far we have just shared what we already know but are looking forward to starting our worm farm and the Year 4 garden.
We had a great time using the small whiteboards to do our 'Big Write' activities on- we hope that we learn a lot more from this over the term.
This week we started to decorate the classroom as a rainforest and we hung our tribe people from Grandparent's and Special Friends Day.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day
This term has certainly flown by! The students have all settled well and are enjoying year four thoroughly. What better way to share the last day of term than with our special friends and grandparents. It was a pleasure having friends and family in our classrooms and being able to show them a snippet of some of the learning year four is involved in.

4C Water Assembly
Year four has been learning about Water Sustainability. Students have learnt about the water cycle, how to save water and why water is so important to sustain the world we live in. In week nine 4C had the privilege to run the Monday Assembly and share with the rest of the school the importance of water.

Bullying Awareness Week
This week at school is Bullying Awareness Week. We have been discussing the different types of bullying that takes place. Students have also been discussing different emotions and feelings they may experience and who would be the best people they could go to for help. The slideshow below shows some role plays of bullying scenarios that we say ‘NO!’ to.

Week 5 Activities
This week we finished and mounted some pretty fantastic pieces of art. We drew pictures of what the seasons of the year might look like through a window. We used pencil and texta to create our images.
We also discovered some great ways of saving water and we loved watching the H2O Water Saving Mission video (check out the learning links).
Finally, we had a great time learning about different types of clouds. We created posters in Comic Life showing cloud images and their names. This was a new computer program to most of us and it was pretty cool to be able to create a poster with ease. We also attempted to create a cloud in a bottle, but only one group saw anything that looked remotely like a cloud. It was not a very successful science experiment. Better luck next time!
